Musical Theatre Emphasis AA Degree

The AA degree is offered for those looking at a more musical theatre education course of study and can usually be completed in four semesters. The AA degree prepares a student to transfer to a Bachelor of Arts program at a four year institution. All AA degrees at Western have the same general education and elective requirements. The following program of study is suggested for students who want to meet the requirements for an AA degree by emphasizing in Musical Theatre.

Degree Requirements

The total credit requirement for the AA Musical Theatre emphasis is 64-66 credits. Of these credits, only 36-38 are General Education Requirements. The student, therefore, has considerable flexibility in choosing from within the Musical Theatre major area or other electives.

Students taking Level I dance technique courses as part of their core requirements may repeat these courses as elective credit.

Level II dance technique courses may be repeated three times for credit and may replace Level I courses in the curriculum.
