Natural Sciences, Associate of Science

The Associates of Science in Natural Sciences provides a comprehensive and accessible foundational education in the natural and associated sciences to students who intend to pursue a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field at a four-year institution. The demand for individuals with an education in STEM related fields is increasing across the State of Wyoming. Students who graduate with the AS in Natural Sciences and continue their education at a four-year institution are expected to meet this growing demand.

  • Social Science courses: ANTH 1100 or 1300, CRMJ 1001, ECON 1010, G&R 1050 (recommended), HLED 1003 or 1140, HIST 2030, POLS 1200, PSYC 1000 or 2080, SOC 1000 or 1100.
  • Math or Lab Science (8 hours) from the following: BIOL 2010, CHEM 2300 or 2340, MATH 2205 or 2210 or 2250, MOLB 2210, PHYS 1120, PHYS 1320, REWM 2000, REWM 2500, REWM 2100, RNEW 2100.
  • Health and Human Activity or Topics: Any PEAC, OEAC, or Topics course will meet this requirement.
  • US & Wyoming Constitution can be fulfilled by HIST 1211, HIST 1221, HIST 1251, or POLS 1000.
  • Note: Any student placing into a math course "higher" than MATH 1400 shall have the corresponding number of credits as electives in their pathway; all course material will qualify (e.g. a student placing into Calculus I would have 6 credits of electives in their pathway in lieu of MATH 1400 & MATH 1405).
